The birthplace of the American Revolution, Massachusetts is a state known for its roots in Colonial history. Although small in size, Massachusetts offers a wide range of activities in each of its unique cities. The state capital, Boston, is known for its Freedom Trail and of course the hometown ball team the Red Sox and their historic ballpark, Fenway. Located in Berkshires of western Massachusetts, Taconic Golf Club is one of the more scenic courses in the state. Originally designed in 1927 by Wayne Stiles of Stiles & Van Cleek, Taconic’s par-71 course was renovated in 2009 by renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse. With rolling hills and tree lined fairways, Taconic is a beautiful course and a must play. Another artfully crafted course is Red Tail Golf Club, which incorporates the sites rolling wooded hills and numerous streams. The terrain varies from classic New England landscapes of maples, birches, oaks and pines to tall grasses and sands reminiscent of a coastal courses. Riddled with bunkers and spectacular views the course is as challenging as it is gorgeous.
Located in Bernardston, Crumpin-Fox Club offers a unique golf experience. The perfectly maintained course can be enjoyed cruising on a GolfBoard, which the course offers as a fun alternative to carts. It is not uncommon to run into a local sport figure too at Crumpin-Fox, the course is frequently visited by Red Sox and Bruins players.
